Robin Hood. Series 2, Picture Gallery 9

Above: Allan A Dale says he counts his money in the morning, with a clear conscience. Below: Gossip in the camp about all the couples pairing of. Is that a sad expression on John's face? Remembering perhaps his own courting days with his ex-wife. Watch Gordon Kennedy carefully. He's never given much dialogue, but often conveys these little nuances of character in silence.
Above: Trapped and surrounded!
Above: In the midst of their dilema, Robin Hood makes the engagement official with a ring. (We hope you bought that one with your own money Robin, and didn't just rob it from the rich!)
Above: Marian accepts Robin Hood's proposal of marriage beneath the leaves of Sherwood Forest.

Hi Laura,

"Allan does in fact realise he’s done this, but chooses to let him proceed, because it might also enable Will to escape the gallows."

I noticed.

In each episode there are normally a few humerous 'throw away' lines.

In last Saturday's the Sheriff shouts,'Stop the pigeon, stop that pigeon now!!' Do you think this was an imitation of a kids cartoon series of the 1970's called 'Stop The Pigeon?'

I'm sure most of you are far too young to remember that cartoon series, my dad told me about it! But perhaps Robin, who is at least 800 years old might remember???

P.S.

I am enjoying the Lucy Griffiths gallery.

(Do you think that young Robin needs some lessons in romance?)

Hi Clemment,

Here's the full lyric, just for you:

Muttley you snickering floppy eared hound,
When courage is needed, you're never around!
Those medals you wear on your moth-eaten chest,
Should be there for bungling at which you are best!
So, Stop The Pigeon, Stop The Pigeon,
Stop The Pigeon, Stop The Pigeon,
Stop The Pigeon, Stop The Pigeon
Stop that Pigeon How ?
Nab him - jab him - tab him - grab him,
Stop that pigeon now!

You silly, stop sneaking it's not worth the chance,
For you'll be returned by the seat of your pants!
And Clunk, you invent me a Thingamybob,
That catches that pigeon or I lose my job!
So, Stop The Pigeon, Stop The Pigeon,
Stop The Pigeon, Stop The Pigeon,
Stop The Pigeon, Stop The Pigeon
Stop that Pigeon How ?
Nab him - jab him - tab him - grab him,
Stop that pigeon now!
